SubPac’s Sean Leonard talks about how the SubPac technology is being applied in the medical industry. Heart doctors have actually been able to use the SubPac to diagnose different types of heart disease. A contact microphone is used to feed the audio signal from the heart into the SubPac, so that doctors can feel the heart and distinguish between the audio signatures of different types of heart disease. It has also recently begun being used to help deaf and autistic kids.
As part of our ongoing Mindshare series of events, Pyramind hosted an evening of groundbreaking technology demonstrations and discussions from the front lines of audio innovation for virtual and augmented reality, robotics and artificial intelligence.
The evening began with a hosted cocktail hour for networking and product demos where attendees were among the first to play beta Virtual Reality games using the SubPac Tactile Bass System, Vive and Oculus VR gear and check out the Anki Overdrive in action.
The panel discussion that followed was moderated by Pyramind's Greg Gordon and included Anki Audio Director Brian Min and Audio Coordinator Ashley Coull, Pullstring audio team members Kevin Dusablon and Mike Forst along with Subpac's Sean Leonard and Ryan Origin (Gaming/VR) joining us for the panel discussion.
